At a very well attended meeting of Monaghan United Supporters last night, Friday, outrage was expressed at the treatment of Monaghan United Football Club in recent days.  There was huge disappointment that the Club is not in the Premier Division in the coming Season.  The meeting wants the Club to go forward in the First Division with the slogan ⌠In it to win it.

Total solidarity and support for the Club and team was given at the meeting.  As an indication of their support for the Club, the Supporters launched the ⌠Friends of Monaghan United Football Club■ with the announcement that they will run a new Lotto and undertake other fundraising initiatives through the Season.

The Supporters acknowledged the work of Mick Cooke and his players and the success they have brought to the Club.

The Meeting acknowledged the huge financial support which the Monaghan Community has given to the Club over the years and asks that the people of Monaghan continue to give that support in the coming Season to help meet the financial requirement upon the Club to ensure success in the Season ahead.

The Supporters expressed acknowledgement and thanks for the many messages of support received from Airtricity League Supporters throughout the country following the announcement of the FAI Independent Club Licensing Appeal Body.
