| Seniors: They won their last league match of the campaign on Sunday last against Eire Og by 2-12 to 1-8. Thanks to players, team management and all others involved for their commitment throughout the year. Under 8: The under 8 competition was held in Aughnamullen on Saturday last where Aughnamullen A & B teams were entered as well as Ballybay, Cremartin, Blackhill & Rockcorry. After the round robin group was done the 3 finals were as follows: Aughnamullen A v Cremartin; Ballybay v Blackhill; and Rockcorry v Aughnamullen B. In the first final Cremartin beat Aughnamullen by 3 points on a score line of 4-0 to 1-6; In the second final Ballybay defeated Blackhill after extra time by 8-6 to 6-4, whilst in the other final Aughnamullen had a good win over Rockcorry by 2-2 to 1-2. A major thanks is extended to Nichrome Engineering who sponsored the medals and cups. Also a major thanks is extended to the referees i.e. John & Keith Sheridan, Eugene Bannigan and Damian Duffy the previous week. Thanks also to Mary Duffy who provided tea & sandwiches on both Saturdays. A major thanks is extended to Dermot & Mary B Hamill who helped in the organising of the tournaments and also well helped by John Joe Murtagh, Frank Marron, Sean Geoghegan, Sean Duffy, Peter Dooney and anybody else who helped out in anyway. Aughnamullen Team A: Liam Duffy, Gavin Bannigan, Jason Duffy, Shay Duffy, Martin Sheridan, Sean Hamill, Luke Murtagh, Cillian McGeough and Erin Hamill. Team B: Conor Boyle, Dylan McMahon, Kevin McCahey, Thomas Hamill, Andrew Duffy, Adam Brady, James Hannaway, Aoife McQuillan, David Sheridan and Joseph McNanney Under 10: The club held its inaugural football tournament in Aughnamullen on Saturday week last. The tournament was an excellent success and all credit is extended to the organising committee. The following teams took part Aughnamullen A & B teams as well as Corduff, Cremartin, Ballybay and Rockcorry where there were a number of games and as a result the following finals took place: Group 1 Aughnamullen A V Corduff, Cremartin V Ballybay and Rockcorry V Aughnamullen B. In the first final Aughnamullen and Corduff produced a very exciting game with Aughnamullen emerging victorious on a score line of 1-8 to 2-2 with Martin McQuillan scoring the crucial goal, whilst there were some great performances from the rest of the team Patrick McEneaney in goals the tight defending of Darren Geoghegan and Oisin Hamill, the midfield partnership of Tiernan Duffy and Kieran Duffy, whilst up front Jack McBrien, Kieran Marron and Martin McQuillan. Team Captain Ryan Connolly also excelled to lift the trophy to great applause. In the Group 2 final Ballybay's ability to score goals proved crucial in their 3 points victory over a gallant Cremartin side. In the group 3 final this was the most exciting final with the game in the balance up to final whistle when Rockcorry had a narrow 2 point win over a hardworking Aughnamullen side by 2-4 to 2-2 there were many stars on this side and this was a great performance considering Rockcorry had beaten them by 20 points in an earlier fixture. Aughnamullen panel included Joel Wilson, Vinny Ajasaulk, Jay Marron, Aaron Hamilton, James Hannaway, Cillian McConnell, Adam Blanche, Adam Brady, Ryan Johnson, Jamie Anderson, Sinead Duffy, Erin Hamill, Sean Hamill and Martin Sheridan. A major thanks to Frank Marron who sponsored the trophy and medals, the referees Damian Duffy, Keith & John Sheridan, and anybody else who helped in the organising of the tournament. Under 15: The Under 15's played in Cloghan on Friday week last where they were paired in a group alongside Cremartin, Donaghmoyne and Sean McDermotts. They played Seans first and held their own where they were beat by a couple of scores but in the other 2 games came up a more formidable and stronger opposition losing. Another blitz will take place back again on 29th October again in Cloghan, more details later.
