| Seniors - The seniors qualified for the semi-final of the championship on Saturday evening when they overcame Scotstown 0-10 to 1-05. Pre-match rain and a stiff breeze made conditions difficult but both teams battled hard to produce an absorbing contest. Blayney looked livelier in the opening exchanges and points from Dermot Malone and Marty McElroy (2,1f) saw them three ahead by the 10th minute when an accidental clash saw Scotstowns Peter O'Hara require lengthy attention before having to be replaced. When play resumed Blayney took up where they had left off with good scores from Ciaran Hanratty and Keith Hill stretching the lead to five. Scotstown finally came to life in the last 10 minutes of the half and 4 unanswered points reduced the arrears to the minimum and a goal on the verge of halftime gave them a two point lead that had scarcely looked likely 10 minutes earlier. Scores were harder to come by in the second half but a pair of frees from Hill and McElroy had Blayney level with 15 minutes left. Adrian Irwin then put Blayney back in front and another Hill free doubled that lead before Scotstown reduced the lead to one but in a tight finish Blayneys nerve held and another Hill free closed out the game for Blayney.
