| FAI/FORD Cup Quarter Finals.
The long awaited and anticipated wait for the cup action nears an end as we look forward to our first clash with Premier Division side Sligo Rovers in the quarter finals of the FAI/Ford Cup on Saturday next. Kick off at the Showground’s is at 7.45.p.m. Locally there is a great interest in this game and hopefully that will translate into travelling support on the day and at the moment with a number of buses filled that looks positive. With two wins at the weekend United have to go into this game in a positive frame of mind. The manager Mick Cooke has insulated his side well from all the hype. United will have to step up a Division but they have already achieved this by defeating Bohemians and Dundalk.
