NEWS AND RESULTS FROM LAST WEEKEND

Their was more national and local success last weekend with 2 tough races on the agenda both from both inland and cross-channel venues on the menu for the young birds to negotiate.

The big winner of the day was the Belgium Park loft of Peter Tierney flying the 300 miles from Penzance Cornwall England in the Young Bird Cross Channel National.. Their was just 4 birds home on the race day with both Cooney Brothers and Brendan Corley clocking birds on Sunday out of a really tough race and well done to all the birds that made it home

Meanwhile in the second race Cooney Brothers took the plaudits with a great win from Roscarbery County Cork in the Young Bird Inland National another good scalp for the brothers. Our South African flier Martin Kruger was just narrowly beaten into second by the Cooney Brothers a credible prize for Martin who’s loft is situated in Annyally

Next week is the final race of the season and considering the weather it may be for the best after what was a great season for the club an and for its individual membership the venue is Skibereen County Cork 210 for the Young Bird National race and it should be a tough end to the season.
