Seniors- The seniors suffered a disappointing defeat in their league encounter with Scotstown last Saturday evening. Blayney started brightly and two early points from Ciaran Hanratty saw them lead before Scotstown opened their account with a goal followed quickly by a point. Blayney then hit an unanswered 1-3 with the goal coming from Aidan Ward to move clear and the teams traded points in the last 10 minutes to leave the half-time score Blayney 1-07 Scotstown 1-04. The second half was a different story with Scotstown on top from the start and Blayney only registered one Aidan Ward point in the whole half and Scotstown ran out 1-13 to 1-08 winners.

Junior C – The Junior Cs concluded their league campaign last Wednesday night with a comfortable 2-15 to 2-06 victory over Toome. First half goals from Brendan McElroy and Stephen Dignam were the foundation for the victory.

Under 21 – The U21s were defeated 3-09 to 0-13 by Monaghan Harps in the league semi-final on Monday night. On an awful night for football both teams emerged with credit for producing such a competitive game. Playing against the elements in the first half Blayney performed creditably and led for most of the period thanks to Dermot Malones prowess and the free-taking of Keith Hill but a late Harps goal gave them a 3 point half time lead. Blayney started the second half well but as the old saying goes goals win games and two Harps goals in the space of a couple of minutes left Blayney with a mountain to climb and try as they might they couldn't get the goal that would have brought them into contention and time ran out with them still 5 in arrears.
