RESLULTS & NEWS FROM MONAGHAN HOMING PIGEON SOCIETY FROM LAST SATURDAY

In what was a busy Saturday for the club 2 races took place 1 from Tullamore County Offaly and a second from Talbenny in South Wales with Packie Coughlan and Peter Tierney the big winners on the day.  The Talbenny win for Tierney was a great win for the Belgium Park loft as the 188 mile race was a tough 1 and is the official “young Bird Cross Channel Derby and a big scalp to take. His bird just pipped the Cooney Brothers at the post by a matter of yards. The Talbenny birds were released at 7.45am on Saturday and Peter clocked his winner at 1.24pm a great time on the day.

In the Tullamore race the Monaghan birds were released at 8.15am and Packie Coughlan timed his winner at his loft in Tully Monaghan at 9.39am also a great time in what was a fast race.  Next weeks venue is Fermoy County Cork.  He club would like to thank Armagh City seed provider Aaron Murtagh for sponsoring the winners of the 2 races with a greatly appreciated bag of pigeon feed a nice gesture from the man who is a bird fancier himself.
