![]() The club held its first ever presentation night in Blackhill Community Centre on December 9th. The night was a tremendous success with a huge crowd of players and parents in attendance. Special Guests on the night included Sergeant Eric Boyle and Bhean Garda Lisa who spoke about how important it was for parents to know about internet safety for their children to avoid bullying and how to use social network sites such as Facebook safely.
Another special guest on the night was Martin Kiernan, Fixtures secretary for the CMUL and U13 Emerging Talent Co-coordinator. Martin who hails from Ballyjamesduff spoke about the Emerging Talent programme, what it involves, who it is aimed at and the opportunities it can lead to. He congratulated the club on its impressive record of players involved in the programme and presented club players Tautvydas Seimulous and David Hanley with special recognition rewards for their role in the U12 Foyle Cup Champions Team.
Blayney Rovers is made up of many many people, all of different ages and walks of life and all have their different roles within the club. In recognition of this, each member was presented with a certificate in recognition of their contribution to the Club being named Club of the Year 2011. The following awards were presented on the night for the 2010-2011 season : U8 Club Player of the Year - Stephen Mooney; U10 Club Player of the Year - Jack Lowney; U11 Club Player of the Year - James McCahey; U11 Players Player of the Year - Craig Callen;
U12: Club Player of the Year – Tommy Geehan; U12 Players Player of the Year – James Wilson; U12 Most Improved Player – Ciaran Maguire; U12 Best All Rounder – Kyle Noakes; U12 Leadership Award – Mark Connor;
U14 Club Player of the Year – Ciaran Hanley; U14 Players Player of the Year – James Daly; U14 Most Improved Player – Eoghan McNally; U14 Best All Rounder – Jason Walsh; U14 Leadership Award – Ronan McNamara;
Special Recognition Award – Tautvydas Seimulous and David Hanley.
A special presentation was made to Mindzenty Finnegan of a club jersey as recognition of his dedication to his support and love of soccer in Castleblayney over the years
A big thank you to all the parents, family members, players, committee and coaches who turned up on the night despite the icy roads. Hot food and drinks were served for all with lots to go round so no-one went home hungry!

Another massive thanks to everyone who made the big effort to sell the Christmas raffle cards especially during these hard times. As usual, local business were very supportive especially Peter McMahon from Centra who donated a €300 voucher as first prize
We really have fantastic support from all our members and parents and judging from the comments at the Presentation Night, parents are very happy with the clubs accomplishments and club spirit.
A very generous donation was received during the night from an individual parent who was impressed with how much the club had accomplished and wanted to show their support for the clubs work. A big thank you to this parent for their generosity and we fully respect your wish of anonymity.

BINGO
It seems ages ago now but the club held a very successful Bingo in the Glencarn Hotel on November 28th. The impressive €2000 jackpot attracted over 800 people to the event which we organized in partnership with the Castleblayney Chamber of Commerce. The lucky winner of the jackpot on the night was Ms Vicki McArdle from Hackballcross. Congratulations Vicki! A big thank you to all the committee, coaches and parents who put in a lot of time and work into staging this event. Thanks to our all Sponsors and to the local businesses who donated prizes on the night. All help is greatly appreciated.
CMUL
The second part of the season has started very slowly for the U12/U14/U16 with very few games being able to be played due to unfit pitches. However, all teams are training hard with challenge games being organized to keep everyone on their toes!
The committee is busy planning events for the next few months and already 2012 is looking to be one of our busiest years yet
GIRLS TEAM
![]() Our U13 Girls team are now back in training every Friday evening at 6pm on the astro at Our Lady’s. The team is growing each week with 2 new signings last week who are making new friends and enjoying playing football in a non competitive way. New members are always very welcome.
WINTER PROGRAMME
Our Winter programme for 7-10 yr olds continues every Wednesday night in the Castleblayney College gym at 7pm. New players always welcome. Ring 0867841097 for more information on this session or for information on anything to do with the club.
SYMPATHIES
Blayney Rovers would like to offer our sincerest sympathies to Terry, Daniel and Tara Duffy on the very sudden death of Denise who passed away on New Year’s Day. The club formed a guard of honor at Denise’s funeral and our thoughts are with Duffy and Farrell families as well as all of Denise’s friends of which there were many
