| There was only two matches this weekend for Blayney and both were on Saturday. The U-15's took on Killylough in Gortakeegan at 5.00pm, it was tough game for a very young team, which was made up of mostly the U-14's squad. Unfortunately they weren't able to keep up with Killylough and they ended up on the loosing side of the match. It was a brave effort from Blayney and theyl have a chance to bounce back next weekend. Straight after the U15's match the Senior team were in action as they took on Cavan Celtic. It was a really tough match for the Academy which saw the ball go forth and back from each team with plenty of heavy tackle's. It was midway through the second half before there was a goal and it was Mr. Captain Fantastic Lenny Leonard who recieved a beautifully lofted ball and smached the back of the net, Blayney created plenty of chance's but couldn't get by the Cavan defence. Then about fifteen minutes from the end Cavan had a player sent off but as soon as that happened they piled on the pressure and kept Blayney in their own half, but every shot they took was either blocked by the defence or saved by the keeper, the Academy held out until the final whistle with the final score Blayney 1 Cavan Celtic 0. This weekend the Senior team take on Carrick Rovers in Kingscourt and 6:30pm. Get Well soon to Eamon and Ray who are recovering from injury.
