The u-15's were unlucky this weekend as they suffered a defeat at the hands of Cavan Shamrock on saturday in Gortakeegan. The U-18's were set to play Ballyhaise Celtic on Sunday at 2.00pm but due to unforeseen circumstances the match was called off. The Senior took on Carrick rovers on Sunday morning, this was the first time these two teams have meet and it was never going to be easy for Blayney, Rovers applied the pressure early and a well placed free kick saw them take the lead. Blayney struck back less than five miutes later and a wonderfull through ball was placed to Cathal O Flaherty who drilled it into the back of the net. Blayney started of the second half in control and a cross from John McManus meet Lenny Leonard who headered the ball into the back of the net, the score remained 2-1 for some time until a deflection of a player sent the Blayney keeper the worng way and into the back of the net. The team are still on top of the league but a win would have made it very hard for the lad's to be caught,  You can find out results and fixtures of the Senior team on RTE Aertel page 448.
