Blayney Academy

It was a busy weekend in the Academy camp both on and off the pitch, unfortunately a number of matches were cancelled due to the bad weather. The U-15s were the first to fall victim as their match against Killylough was cancelled on Saturday. Next was the senior team who were set to play Cavan on Sunday was called off and with no match scheduled for next weekend itl give the men a chance to regroup and get over some injury worries. The U-18s team braved the rough weather to play Cavan Celtic in Gortakeegan on Sunday and a hard faught battle saw them come out on top for the second time this season. 4-3 was the final score with a goal from Shane Ross and a hat-trick from Nial McCann. The Academy girls were out in full force on saturday as well and they to were victorious. Well done to the girls, the weather is no match for these ladies!!

FAI Back of the net

A great turn out this week for the back of the net programme, time is running out as its reaching its final weeks so for anyone who his intrested in participating now is the time to join,just grab your runners and come on down. Its a FREE training session every Saturday morning at 11:30, Qualified coaches are on hand to show you some warm ups and passing moves before a kickabout.

You do not need to be a member of any club to take part and we would love to see more people who may have no experience in football come down for and hour of fun and light exercise. For more information, contact Blayney Academy's Director of coaching Barry Dolan on 0868377001

Collection

A big thanks to everyone, players, parents, coaches and even the chairman for helping with the money collection around the town on Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd, also a super big thanks to everyone who donated to the club, every cent is really appreciated and will go to help the club get bigger and better, without the donations and sponsership the club could not survive.
