B Clean Cleaning Services New Rovers Sponsor

Blayney Rovers FC are delighted to announce that B Clean Cleaning Services are the new sponsor for the clubs U12 team.

Barry Cunningham and his new wife Ciara were present at the U12 game in Gortakeegan on Sunday last to meet the team and mark the companies very generous sponsorship deal.  The committee are delighted to have yet another well known and highly respected local business supporting the club.

B Clean Cleaning Services are based in Castleblayney and have a great reputation for professionalism and customer service. They offer a wide range of cleaning services for both commercial and residential, including House cleans, Roofs & Gutters, Carpet and Upholstery cleaning, Power Washing and Chimney cleans.  They cover Castleblayney and all surrounding areas.

The U12 team had a great game on Sunday in really atrocious conditions winning 7-0 so the team feeling is that Barry and Ciara brought them luck and are now expected to attend every match!!

Monster Bingo

All roads lead to The Glencarn hotel on Sunday 20th November for our Monster Bingo organised in conjunction with the Castleblayney Chamber of Commerce.  Large crowds are expected from all the surrounding areas including Armagh, Dundalk and Cavan with the jackpot a massive €2000!  Lots of great prizes on the night including a raffle with prizes donated by local business make this a day not to be missed.   More info to follow on this in the next few weeks.

Presentation Night

The club will hold their presentation night on 9th December in Blackhill Community Centre.  Food will be served on the night along with awards and our Christmas Draw.  This night is an opportunity for the club to celebrate winning Club of the Year and Team of the Year awards but also to recognise the hard work and commitment of its members during the last season.  It also gives parents and other family members a chance to see the club achievements over the past year.  More details to follow

Girls U13 team

The Girls team are taking part in the Monaghan Development league every second Saturday in Monaghan and are having a great time.  The aim of this league is to encourage more girls to play soccer and seems to be working really well.  Any young ladies who want to join the team should come along to Our Lady’s Astro each Friday evening at 5pm where they will be looked after by Kathy and Michelle, trained FAI Club coaches.

Emerging Talent

An increased number of club players attended trails at all age levels in the Emerging Talent Programme over the past few weeks which is extremely encouraging for the club.  Cian O’ Connor, goalie, was successful in the U12 age group.  Tautvydas Semelevicius and David Hanley, Foyle Cup Champions from last season were selected again for the U13 ET team who compete in the SFAI competitions and head to Umbro Cup in Galway next summer.  Some of our members are still being considered for the U14 ET team while Jason Walsh was selected for the U16/17 Emerging Talent team and plays his first game this week.   These results are a great testament to the players themselves, the clubs coaches and to the clubs commitment in developing players and giving them the opportunities to learn from the best.

After Schools Programme

The After Schools Programme is a soccer skills development programme aimed at developing the soccer skills of young player’s born 2001 who are currently playing in the Cavan/Monaghan Underage League.  Four members – Robbie Hanratty; Rory McGlynn; Dermot Kelly and David Irwin are attending specialized training each Friday evening in Gortakkegan with dedicated FAI trained coaches along with the FAI Development officer.

Training

Training continues for all teams each week on Our Lady’s Astro.  U11/12 train every Tuesday from 6-7pm, U16 from 5.45 -7pm on Wednesdays; Fridays from 5-6pm for the girls and U14 train from 6-7pm.
