Nuremore Golf Club members Martin Kiernan, John Kiernan and James Kiernan along with the Club Captain, Ken Beatty finished second at the 2011 Musgrave Crumlin Hospital Club Challenge All Ireland Final in the Algarve over the weekend

Nuremore rivals were Ballykisteen Golf Club (Munster Champions), Roscommon Golf Club, Galway (Connacht Champions) and Elmgreen Golf Club (Leinster Champions) for the coveted All Ireland title and pennant with the Munster champions on 148 points winners over the two days of competition.                                                                       “Photo: Ronan Quinlan”

A two foot putt on the 18^th green at Pinta by Ballykisteen’s Damien Cullen was the winning stroke in a closely fought final which gave Ballykisteen Golf Club their first All Ireland title and green pennant.  The putt started wild celebrations for the team and all contestants over the weekend.

The title was deceided over 36 holes at Palmares Golf Club and Pinta Golf Club in a single stableford format (two scores to count from the three) and in the rumble format on the second day.

All funds raised from this competition go directly to Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin thanks to the generous support from the Musgrave Group. Now in its thirteen year the competition has raised over £1.3million for St. Anne’s Ward (dedicated burns unit) which was built by the company.

Clubs can get involved in the 2012 Musgrave Crumlin Children’s Hospital Club Challenge in two ways by including the three person “Rumble for Crumlin” competition day in their club’s diary which can include all male teams, all ladies teams or mixed teams or during a single’s event charging an extra £10 per person and the winner, runner up and gross winner representing the club at the Provincial Final.

All Ireland Final in the Algarve, Portugal 12^th – 15^th October
