Shelbourne v Monaghan United
As the 2011 season approaches its final month this tie could prove the most important for both sides Shelbourne and Monaghan United. Shels are clear league leaders by seven points but if Monaghan could get a win in this game there would only be four points between the sides and United have that all important game in hand.
Monaghan United wont fear going to Tolka Park, they had a well deserved win there on their last visit when they did it the hard by coming from behind. In the return game at Gortakeegan it was two controversial penalty decisions that decided the game in Shels favour.
The main threat to United will come from two of their former strikers Karl Bermingham and Philly Hughes.
Kick of on Friday at Tolka Park is 8.p.m.
Suspensions : none
Injured : Conor Mc. Mahon.

Manager’s view “ We are looking forward to meeting the league leaders on their own patch. The previous two games between us were exciting encounters with both sides serving up some entertaining football; however I was disappointed with two crucial penalty decisions going against us in the home game. I believe that this will be even a better game, It is the first of two crunch outings for us in five days with the long trip to Cork on Tuesday. Over the past number of games I have noticed a fine progression in the side and I have been able to start with the same eleven in recent games. I have a full squad to select from with everyone wanting to play.
The pundits fancy Shelbourne, indeed if you were to read or listen some of their musings all Shels have to do to win the championship is to turn up for their remaining games. We don’t mind going into the game as underdogs”
