| Blayney Academy
Another eventful week for Blayney Academy as last weeks summer camp braught alot of new faces to the club, there were great reviews from parents and players about the super job the coaches had done during the week, especially on friday when a reported water fight broke out!!! The mens team travelled to Drumkill on Sunday in another pre-season friendly, losing 3-2 by a penalty in last few seconds of the game. The formation and team are working really well and will soon be ready for the season to kick off.

Ray Houghtan Supports Back of the Net
Last Friday Irish Football legend Ray Houghtan Visited Castleblayney in support of Rath Na Nog and Blayney Academys "Back of the Net". Back of the net is a health awarness programme set up by the club, DCU and Rath Na Nog. Its free football for everyone and anyone every Saturday morning at Our Ladys Astro Pitch. Ray enjoyed his first cup of tea of the day before officially kick-starting the programme. Hes hopes that this event will raise awareness of both mental and physical health, A large crowd turned out to see the star who happily signed autographs and got photos taken with fans and some of the Academy players. He was very impressed with the Academy Girls team and even took time out to have a kick about with them, he hopes to return to Castleblayney in a few weeks to see how the scheme is going and might even take his boots with him to show the younger players how its done,
Special Thanks
A very Special thanks to everyone at Rath Na Nog for the use of their fantastic facilities and for the brilliant food they served during the event, without there support this programme could not take place.
