It has been a great week for Blayney Academy FC. The U16 and U13 teams after their impressive wins at the weekend are both now only one game away from winning their perspective Championships and have reached the cup semi finals, the u10 and u8 teams played very well in a local blitz and the parents and senior players helped raise funds for the Johnny Giles Foundation in Dundalk on Sunday.

It was a great turn out from all parents and players as Blayney Academy FC was officially the biggest supported club from County Monaghan at the walk with over 50 participants! A great word of thanks must go to BAFC's Roisin Carragher for her organisation of the event and to all those who helped raise the much needed funds for the foundation. The foundation set by by Rep of Ireland and RTE's Johnny Giles will help local clubs build a better future for local players. As Roisin stated " This is a great way for our rapidly increasing club in Castleblayney to help children all over the country take part in a fun sport and to enjoy the benefits of football." The club would also like to thank all those very generous people in Castleblayney for their generosity. The Blayney Academy boys and girls raised their banner with pride and walked the 7km around the heart of Dundalk with the support of the senior team, underage managers and parents alike.
Training continues at the usual times this week and with an average rate of three new players a week, joining the club, it is never a better time to join this local community soccer club.
