The 2010 Monaghan Rose of Tralee, Noelle Clerkin was joined by this year’s Monaghan Rose Entrants on their very first day out as Roses and on their own float in the St. Patrick’s day parade in Monaghan Town. A great day’s craic agus ceoil was had by all. The Roses were accompanied on their float by little Rosebuds and mini Escorts. These children were winners of the Rose of Tralee colouring competition in aid of Cystic Fibrosis Association of Ireland of which Noelle is the county Monaghan Ambassador. Please support this worthy cause by purchasing a 65 Roses pin from our Roses and Escorts on Cystic Fibrosis awareness day, the 15th of April. The Monaghan Roses would like to thank Meredith & Seamus from Fernhill Stone for the use of their lorry. This year the Monaghan Roses will be treated to a Night at the Dogs, they will also be touring the county, visiting many of Monaghan’s landmarks and attending the Feile Oriel Festival among many other events across the county. The 2011 Monaghan Rose of Tralee will be announced, on Easter Saturday Night in the Four Seasons Hotel. This years selection promises to be a memorable night, the Roses will be interviewed by i105-107 breakfast show DJ and funny man, Keith Walsh, followed with entertainment by Beatroot right into the small hours. What better way to start your Easter Bank Holiday weekend. There is still time to enter so if you would like to become a Rose or would like to nominate someone to be a Rose or indeed an Escort contact Nicola at the Monaghan centre by email monaghanrose@gmail.com . Application forms are available on the Rose of Tralee website, closing date is the 31st of March.
