The students of Castleblayney College and Our Lady’s Secondary School, Castleblayney in conjunction with Castleblayney Community Enterprise have extended an invitation to the public to attend a Cultural Fair this Saturday, 29 May. The Fair will be located on Lower Main Street and Market Square from 12 noon until 4pm. It is part of a One Community Different Cultures Project which aims to promote awareness of the different cultures that exist within the community. Local people are invited to take a walk along the footpath and have a chat with people of the many different nationalities that are now living in Castleblayney. It will be a chance to gain knowledge of different countries, tourist attractions and traditions. There will also be an opportunity for people to sample some of the different countries dishes. Furthermore, from 12.30pm until 1.30pm an hour of special entertainment will be staged at Market Square. There will be drumming, instrumental music and song and dance that will represent many of the countries involved in the Cultural Fair day. Other attractions such as face painting will also feature on the day. |
