Next Meeting of GIY (Grow It Yourself) Monaghan on Wednesday 2nd March 2011 at 7.30pm sharp at The Market House, Monaghan. There'll be a POD discussion, announcements, a talk on Neutrog Fertilisers- an Irish company manufacturing premium organic and organic based fertilisers with free samples for all. This will be followed by a Q & A session and the March vegetable calendar.

In order to cover our running costs we would like to ask for a contribution of €2 per person. This money will only be used for the running of GIY and is governed by registered charity rules.

GIY networks aim to take the ''self'' out of ''self-sufficiency'' by getting back-garden growers together on a regular basis to talk, learn from each other and exchange tips, produce and war-stories!  The meetings are open to people interested in food growing at all levels, i.e. from growing a few herbs on the balcony to complete self-sufficiency, from beginners to old hands.
Hundreds of people are involved in existing GIY groups around Ireland and activities include talks on specific food-growing topics, garden visits, seed swaps, produce bartering, mentor panels and the return of the meitheal (where growers get together in one another’s gardens to carry out some growing related task).  For more information please email giymonaghan@gmail.com or see http://www.giyireland.com/event/546
