Good news for Monaghan town with the opening of a new business. Lough na Paistí has opened its doors on the North Road offering a Montessori Pre-School and Afterschool Club. The Pre-School is owned by Edel Smyth and caters for children from 2years and 9months up to 4years.  Their afterschool club caters for children from 5years to 12years.

Their Montessori Programme starts at 9.30pm and finishes at 12.30pm. Lough na Paisti is registered for the Free Pre-School Year. This means children who are born between the 2^nd February 2007 and 30^th June 2008 are entitled to a free pre-school year starting in September 2011.

Their afterschool club commences from 2pm-6pm. Lough na Paisti provide a drop off and collection service to the children attending the Model School. The children attending the afterschool club enjoy their trips to the library.  Here, the children can look at books, choose books, and read books, in a library setting. The children also enjoy feeding the ducks and especially the Swans at St Peter’s Lake.  Their homework club is supervised and snack is included in the afterschool programme.

Strong parent participation and commitment is something they will take very seriously and they endeavour at every opportunity to involve parents, whether through newsletter, comment box, regular meetings, or outings with children. They pride ourselves in the high quality of care and attention.

It is fantastic that in the current climate people like Edel are brave enough to open a new business particularly one that holds itself to such high standards. We wish Edel and Lough na Paistí every success and hope that this is just the first of future success stories for Monaghan town.
