Paddy Gollogly,  President of Carrickmacross Lions Club, wishes to sincerely thank everyone who generously supported the Club's annual Charter Night which was held in the Shirley Arms Hotel and was a resounding success.

Ticket sales and donations from the night will go towards the ongoing cost of providing transport services for Alzheimer's sufferers. A bus transfers them to and from the Respite Day Care Centre in Threemilehouse, and was set up as no service existed for people in the South Monaghan area. The service operates once a week and started on 21 April 2010. The Charter evening kicked off with a wine reception followed by a delicious four-course meal.  Entertainment afterwards was provided by ‘Last Word.’
