Fine Gael candidate Sean Conlan has declared that the general election on 25 February must mark the beginning of the efforts to rebuild Ireland. Conlan has said that Fine Gael’s 5 Point Plan offers a road-map for recovery which can improve the lives of people in Monaghan and Cavan.

“The five point plan covers job creation, budget deficit reduction, public sector reform, the creation of a new health care system and a complete overhaul of politics in Ireland” said Conlan.

“There are years of hard work ahead of us, but I want to lead the efforts of the people of Monaghan and Cavan as their TD. I firmly believe that the first step in getting our country back on track is by electing a Fine Gael government” Conlan continued.

“Fine Gael’s 5 Point Recovery Plan includes proposals to create an average of 20,000 jobs a year. It aims to balance the budget by 2016 with no income tax increases. It seeks to create a better, more efficient public service. It plans to introduce a system of universal health insurance. And it will reform politics reducing the number of politicians by 35% and abolishing the Seanad” he concluded.
