Monaghan Schools Strong Show in BT Science Exhibition

Today the  BT Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition opens to the public at the RDS  in Dublin.

The event will continue for the next three days and there is 350,000 spectators anticipated to pass through the doors of the RDS.
A record 1,735 projects have entered the competition this year, up a third, with over 500 chosen to compete for the coveted title
of BT Young Scientist & Technologist of the Year 2011.
 
There is over 340 schools participating in the event and Monaghan is being strongly represented by six schools from across the county.
 Those in the line up are The Patrician High School, Inver College and St. Louis Secondary School from Carrickmacross. Also are  Our lady's Lady Secondary School in Castleblaney,
Ballybay Community College and Colaiste Oiriall in Monaghan.
The schools have submitted 15 entries between them ranging from "The Impact of the newly introduced HPV scheme in our schools" to "Improving bicycle use in Monaghan"
 Highlights during the event will include a Jurassic rainforest, warring robots and a tour of the solar system through 3D stereo projection
