Fr. Joe Mc Veigh who is based in Fermanagh is calling for a grave in Co. Monaghan to be exhumed to determine if the body buried in it is that of one of the so-called 'Disappeared'.
He is urging the Independent Commission for the Location of Victims' Remains to carry out more investigations on what was thought to have been an empty plot at Urbleshanny Church cemetery near Scotstown.
Fr. McVeigh has written to the written to the Department of Justice in the Republic after he received information stating that graveyard workers had made the discovery in 1980, when the remains of a person who had died in England were being legitimately buried in the plot.It’s understood that burial went ahead despite the information Now Fr. McVeigh is calling for the Commission to carry out an exhumation of the grave to determine whether the remains are of one of the 'Disappeared'.
