The announcement regarding the Primary Care Unit in Monaghan Town is expected before the end of this month.At Novembers Regional Health Forum meeting, the HSE's Area Local Health Manager for Cavan and Monaghan Martin Collum informed the others that details on North Monaghan Primary Care Centre would be released within the next few weeks.
The Centre is being developed through the Primary Care Infrastructure Initiative Scheme, which is currently being rolled out by the Executive. The building in Monaghan town will not be the only one as there is a number of new centres to be provided in the North East region under this scheme this mechanism.
Its understood that detailed discussions have been taking place with the preferred developer and according to the HSE spokesperson - these have recently concluded satisfactorily.The statement adds that its expected a full announcement will be made before the end of December.
