After discissions Clones Town Council are considering supplying grit to residents badly affected by snow and icy conditions in local housing estates.
There were issues raised at the Clones Town Council meeting Monday night where concerns were expressed about the extreme weather conditions and how slippy footpaths and driveways had become in estates.
It was suggested by members of the Town Council that grit bins would be provided by the council for public use.
However, during the meeting insurance issues and public liability grounds were raised, which will now be investigated further by the local engineer.
It is understood the town council is considering working in conjunction with one local residents group to try and see how such a system might work and what implications may arise.
