Number of schools and event closures in Monaghan

A number of primary and post primary schools in  Monaghan are being closed due to the dangerous driving conditions.

St Mary's Boys National School in Monaghan Town is open as is St Louis National School.
 
All post primary schools in Monaghan town are closed as are all VEC schools.
 
Also, second level VEC schools Castleblaney, Carrickmacross and Ballybay and Largy college, Clones are all closed.
 
Bus Eireann is cancelling all school bus services in County Monaghan so no school bus service will run this morning.
 
In Caslteblayney, all schools are effectively closed, the notice for parents is that Our Lady's Secondary, Castleblaney college, Gaelscoil Lurgan, Castleblaney, Scoil na gCallini, Scoil na Buachailli and the Junior School are not opening today.

The Holy Family School in Coothill is also closed today as is Doohamlet national school and it's afterschool.

Latlanaruge national school in Aughabog is also closed, as is the early years playgroup

Ardaghey (A) club for the elderly will not go ahead today in Ardaghey Community Centre.
 
Whist Drive due to held in McShanes Cornafean, has been cancelled tonight, The Christmas whist drive will take place on Monday 13th December
 
Bingo in three mile house in Monaghan will not go ahead tonight due to the weather conditions.
