Safety-Link Consulting Ltd was established by Martin Denny in 2005 in response to the introduction of the new Safety Health & Welfare at Work Act 2005 which requires all companies no matter how big or small to have in place a Safety Statement.

A Safety Statement is your program, in writing, to safeguard the Safety Health & Welfare of your employees while in their place of work.  It represents your commitment to their Safety Health & Welfare and should state how you will guarantee their Health and Safety while at work and what resources you feel are necessary to maintain and review standards and Health and Safety laws.

Moving forward the company is now providing a number of new services, one of which is Portable Appliance Testing (PAT Testing).  Under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Applications) Regulations 2007 S.I. 299, it is now a requirement under Irish law that all businesses’ are obliged to carry out PAT Testing on all portable appliances to ensure the Safety and Welfare of both employees and customers.  The onus to carry out PAT Testing now falls entirely at the feet of the employer who is 100% responsible.  In order to comply with regulations records must be kept for at least five years for random spot checks carried out by the HSA.  Irish Insurers/Underwriters are now requesting proof that all portable appliances comply with this legislation prior to the renewal of existing or commencement of new policies.

The company is also developing a new small business Safety Solution aimed at small business with four or less employee’s e.g. small garage, hairdressers, small manufacturing company etc.  This solution will be tailored to suit the size of the company.  Taking into account the current financial situation within the country the company is in a position to offer an easy payment scheme for these companies.

Martin Denny is a registered member of the Chartered Institute of Occupational Safety and Health, the world’s largest Health & Safety Organization.  The company also carries full professional indemnity insurance.
