| Prof. Richard Conroy and Conroy Diamonds and Gold Plc have made further discoveries in their exploration for gold at Clay Lake in Co. Armagh. In a statement issued to the Stock Exchange today, the company confirmed that a step out drilling programme carried out at Clay Lake has intersected 13 further zones of mineralisation, extending the broad zone of gold mineralisation previously discovered at the site. The latest four inclined drill holes intersected 14 metres of 0.72 grammes per tonne gold, including 2 metres of 1.72g/t gold. Other intersections included 2 metres of 1.78g/t gold, 2 metres of 1.27g/t gold 2.4 metres of 0.92g/t gold, 3 metres of 0.82g/t gold and 3 metres 1.29g/t gold. Of the total seven holes drilled at Clay Lake to date, all had gold mineralisation present. In a comment, Prof. Conroy expressed the view that Clay Lake is even more prospective than their gold discovery at Clontibret, Co. Monaghan, 7kms to the south-west, where a resource of 1 million ounces has already been identified. See Business Section for more details... |
