The second annual Irish Bog Snorkelling event, which is held at Alice’s Loft and Cottages self- catering just outside Castleblayney, attracted participation from all over the country at the weekend last.

The event which is spearheaded by local man Declan Connolly and Louth man John Mc Keown also attracted Sponsorship from mobile phone company Meteor, Cooley Distillery and Og Ireland .The event   was the subject of much talk, hype and media coverage nationally

The Irish Championships also set the fastest time for a relay team with a time of 4.32.19 seconds .The 3 Dublin lads of Peter Cunningham, Kevin Cooper and Hugh Nolan propelled themselves into the record books with the fastest time on record which will be hard to beat.

The event finished off with their presentation in Watters Old Coach Inn and the organisers would like to thank their local sponsors Cavan- Monaghan Leader, Castleblayney Plant Hire, Mc Ardle’s Office Supplies, Glencarn Hotel and Raymond Watters. The lads are now planning next year event to make it even bigger and better.
