Additional funding of €275,000 has been allocated to Monaghan County Council to help with costs associated with sewerage and water.

Similarly, €399,000 has been allocated to Cavan County Council for the same reason.  This news was confirmed by local Fianna Fáil TD Margaret Conlon.  Deputy Conlon welcomed the allocations, saying that it will be used by the local authorities to help them with expenditure on sewerage treatment plans and sampling and licensing costs associated with water services. “The allocation of this additional funding to Monaghan and Cavan County Councils is very welcome. It will help the two councils in their work and contribute towards the Government’s aim of achieving the highest standards in water and wastewater treatment for the people of Cavan/ Monaghan,” she stated.
