Guarddog text alerts
Helping  provide peace of mind by text 24/7 365 days a year.
Two brothers from north Monaghan Neil and Damien McRory  have recently set up a
community based initiative that aims to, if not prevent, then certainly reduce the
amount  of burglaries (particularily home burglaries) in rural areas.
Its called 'GUARDDOG text alerts' and works on the basis that a
witness reporting a burglary or suspicious activity to 'Guarddog'
gives  a description of the incident over the phone, we then send a text of
the description e.g  white transit van seen acting suspiciously at
Mr X home, to up to 50 people registered on our system
that are in close proximity to the location (Mr X in this
case).
To date  the scheme has proved to be successful and are  happy with
how its performing. However, due to the increased amount of burglaries recently it is important
to get the word out, make people aware of what Guarddog  do and try to
get as many homes as we can registered with 'Guarddog'.
It only costs €35 for the yearly subscription.
If you have any questions or wish to become a community agent in your area please give us a call.
Full details of how the scheme is set-up and works are on the
website: www.guarddog.ie
You can follow us on twitter and Facebook for other hints and tips.
