Gardaí are investigating an armed robbery at Bar One  bookmakers on the Main Street in Castleblayney.

Two masked men, one armed with a handgun and the other with a baseball bat, entered the premises at around 7.30pm last night and demanded cash.

A sum of money was handed over, but the amount taken is not thought to be substantial.

The men are believed to have left the scene in a blue Nissan car  with Northern Ireland plates and a partial registration of E-K-Z.

No firearm was discharged during the robbery and no-one was injured

Gardai are asking anyone who may have witnessed the robbery or who might have seen the Blue Nissan either before or after half past seven last night to contact them on 042-97-47900, or any Garda station or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 111 666.
