Laundering Diesel Plant Found Near Glaslough

Tonight Customs officers backed up by armed gardaí raided another illegal diesel laundering plant close to the border near Glaslough village
Two men in their 30s from Northern Ireland were arrested at the scene in the village .
It is believed the operation could have cost the exchequer around €4m a year in lost revenue.
The discovery was made  after the officers entered a premises after a tanker delivered 40,000 litres of agricultural diesel.
Inside they found an underground tank where the fuel was stored as well as bleaching agent which was used to remove the dye from the marked diesel.
The "washed" fuel would then be pumped out and sold as road diesel.
