![]() The Carrickmacross Chamber of Commerce are pleased to announce the new Carrickmacross Walking Tour which starts on Saturday August 13th at 11am. This tour highlights the rich heritage that Carrickmacross has to offer, including the Workhouse, the Fever Hospital, Carrickmacross Lace, St. Joseph’s Church and the Harry Clarke Stained Glass Windows, St. Finbarr's Church, Essex Castle and much more.
The tour takes a little over an hour to complete and is free of charge. The Chamber committee have been planning the tour for a number of months and have selected an experienced group of Tour Guides to lead the tours. The objective of the project is to enhance tourism in Carrickmacross and also to give local people an enjoyable way to learn about the wonderful history that surrounds us.
The Tours will take place every Saturday from Easter to Halloween, departing The Court House at 11am, free of charge. If the weather is too bad for walking the tour will be given indoors as much as possible. Everyone is welcome and wear walking shoes and bring an umbrella!
