How would you like the opportunity to ride a lap of the national road racing circuit, in the company of some of the biggest names in international cycling, with the chance to meet them afterwards?
Co. Monaghan, specifically the area around Scotstown in north Monaghan, plays host to the National Elite Road Racing Championships on Sunday 26th June. This is an event for professional cyclists, many of whom will be heading out to the Tour de France the following week.
Many of the competitors will arrive on Saturday evening, to ride a circuit of the route to be used the following day. As part of National Bike Week, this pre-race lap is being opened up to the public, providing a unique opportunity to cycle with the stars of the international cycling world.
Monaghan County Council will be supplying refreshments and lots of free giveaways such as lights for your bike and spoke reflectors to help small people be seen.
