Lucozade Sports Coaching Workshop - ‘Lifestyle-Getting the Balance Right’

Thursday 14th April – Castleblayney Enterprise Centre (7.00pm-9.00pm)

 

This is the last of the Lucozade Sports Series Monaghan Sports Partnership are organising for this half of the year.  This is the last Lucozade Sports Workshop organised for this half of the calendar year.

This workshop will deal with topics such as exercise and health, rest and recovery, sleep, ice baths etc. It deals with 'getting the balance right!' These workshops are aimed at all those with an interest in the development of sport and recreation including: sports clubs, community groups/organizations, agencies, schools, coaches, athletes, parents, and individuals.

The course is free of charge and places must be booked in advance.

4th Blackwater 10k Run & Walk – Sunday 15th May 2011

This year will be the 4th Blackwater Run & Walk, and is proving to be a popular event with all ages taking part throughout the majestic grounds of Rossmore Park on Sunday 15th May 2011. The success of this mass participation social / recreational and sporting occasion, has awakened many to the hidden gems of local natural splendour that exists only a mile from Monaghan town.

Sports Inclusion Upcoming events:

“Camp Abilities” Monaghan Sports Partnership is hosting an East Camp targeted at young people aged between 5-14years with a disability and their siblings.  The camp will be supported by coaches from the GAA, FAI, Ulster Rugby and Badminton Ireland.  There will also be a coaches delivering and teaching activities such as Bowling, Parachute Games, Aerobics/Dance, Tai Chi and Multisport games.  This camp will be held in Beech Hill College, Monaghan Town, on Monday 18th April and Tuesday 19th April from 11am – 1pm.  Places are limited, and pre-registration is required.  For more information contact Stephen Flynn, Sports Inclusion Disability Officer, Monaghan Sports Partnership, on 087 2623956, or Monaghan Sports Partnership office on 042-9755126. 

 

Swim Helpers Course

Monaghan Sports Partnership will deliver a Swim Helpers Course on the 16TH of April in Monaghan. The course is for parents, guardians, siblings, carers, teachers, swim instructors or anyone who is looking to progress their knowledge in the disability sports sector. The course is subsidised by the Sports Inclusion Programme and the fee is €30 per participant (usually €60). The course will commence at 10pm in Teach Na Daoine in Monaghan town and will finish with a practical pool session in the Monaghan Leisure Centre at 4pm.
