CASTLEBLAYNEY Town Councillor Brendan Hughes has called for the publication of the names and number of people on the social housing list in the area.

The Fianna Fáil representative made the call at the May monthly meeting of Castleblayney Town Council stating that in all his years as a town councillor he had never seen a housing list.

In response to Cllr Hughes, Town Clerk Jerome Savage said it was not common practice to issue a list as the names and number of people on it change on a very regular basis. However, Mr Savage added that the town council would outline to members the number of people on the list but names would not be given as it is private information.
