In her book How to Tell a Woman by Her Handbag, author Kathy Eisman writes that the type of handbag a woman carries says a lot about her personality. “While you can’t judge a book by its cover, taking a closer look at your friends, family and colleagues handbags might help you unlock and understand the secrets of their personality." What does your handbag say about you?
Shoulder Bag Women who wear shoulder bags are said to be practical but also want to look good. Basic leather and plain colours is a sign of a methodical personality, whereas a shoulder bag in fun fabrics or prints indicates a fun-loving streak. Tote Bag The main traits of someone with a tote bag are fun-loving, generous and sociable. Tote bags indicate a youthful outlook and a busy but refined character. The Clutch Bag Clutch bags are an indicator of confidence. They mean a woman isn’t afraid to leave home without extra bulk or unnecessary items. Also they don’t carry a lot of make up around. Under the Shoulder Bag A small handbag carried neatly under the arm implies sophistication and class Rucksack Rucksacks are casual and practical, they represent women who are friendly and young at heart. Backpacks are no longer just for school children, they’re available in a variety of amazing patterns and fabrics, even leather. Bags With Buckles and Zips Leather bags with lots of zips and buckles tend to signify a “bad girl” image. Women who carry these bags tend to act on impulse and are fun-loving. Crochet Bag Crochet bags are a sign of someone who is easy going and artistic. They imply a nurturing and loving side. Designer Bag Women who insist on only carrying designer bags have an appreciation for the finer things in life. They are a reflection of expensive tastes and a possible high-maintenance side.
Oversized Handbag An oversized handbag is a sign that the person carrying it is practical. They tend to carry one bag with a few different outfits rather than transferring the items in it. They don’t see the point in spending huge amounts of money on a handbag. Chances are the practical shoulder bag contains a pen and notebook “just in case”.
