| By Jane Ward Canned dry shampoos are a great way to save time, but can be drying on your hair. Baby powder is a good substitute, but if you don’t have any handy you can try a homemade version with ingredients from the kitchen. It’s just as effective and kinder to hair as it’s made with natural ingredients. 1. Blend together equal parts oatmeal and baking soda – as much as is necessary – making sure it’s well mixed. 2. Sprinkle a small amount on the greasy parts of the hair and leave to settle. This is especially useful for fringes that grease up quickly. 3. To remove the powder brush or shake your hair or blow dry on a cool setting. The mixture should give you a day’s grace if you don’t have time to wash your hair. It’s not recommended for very regular use as it absorbs a lot of the natural oils that your hair needs to stay strong and healthy. |
