| DATE FIXED FOR OFFICIAL OPENING OF VIRGINIA NURSING HOME
Thursday, 24th November next at 2.30pm has been announced as the date for the official opening of a new recently constructed wing at St. Joseph’s Nursing Home, Virginia.
Amongst those expected to attend will be the Grand Master of the Freemasons of Ireland, Mr. George Dunlop, whose organization owns and manages the home.
Amongst those invited to attend will be public representatives and councillors, officials from Cavan County Council and representatives of the HSE and other bodies whose support helped bring the project to completion.
Also amongst the guests will be David Young, Chairman of the Board of Governors; Dawn McLean, Director of Care and members of the nursing and care staff at St. Joseph’s.
The work carried out at St. Joseph’s involved the construction of a new wing housing an extra eight new beds with ensuite facilities, and refurbishment work in the original building.
As a result, the number of residents that St. Joseph’s can now accommodate has been increased to 52 persons with bed accommodation being provided in twin and single rooms. Of these, fourteen beds are available for immediate occupation, eight of which are in the new wing.
