| ALL FARM PAYMENTS MUST BE MADE WITHOUT DELAY - IFA
With the first 50% of the Single Farm Payment to be paid from Monday last Oct 17th, IFA Deputy President Eddie Downey said that all payments must be made without delay. “Any outstanding digitised mapping problems must be resolved immediately so that no individual payments are held up.”
Mr Downey said the timely payment of all farm schemes is vital as farmers depend on these payments for cashflow.
On REPS & AEOS, Eddie Downey has again expressed concern about delays in making payment for last years’ scheme. “It is vitally important that these payments are now made. The Department must then move to pay 30,000 REPS 4 payments and AEOS 2 payments due for this year.”
The IFA Deputy President said the progress on the Disadvantaged Areas must be speeded up. With up to 80% of farmers now paid, all payments to 100,000 farmers must be completed over the next number of weeks. He said it was unacceptable that cases selected for inspection were being delayed.
Mr Downey said farmers are expecting full 50% Single Farm Payment advance of €620m to be paid out.
