The unique event was held in the carpark of the Glencarn Hotel and a total of 13 bands from north and south of the border were in attendance. President of Castleblayney Chamber of Commerce Mr Patrick McFadden welcomed everyone to the town and extended his thanks to the Gardai for ensuring the free-flow of traffic. Mr McFadden also expressed gratitude to the key organiser of the Pipe Band Championships, Vincent Boyd for the excellent arrangement of the competition. Finally, Mr McFadden thanked all the bands for being present in Castleblayney and said he hoped to see them all back again in years to come. Town Mayor Joe Brennan added that he was delighted to be present to witness such an excellent performance from all the top bands in Castleblayney. The winners on the day are listed below.
