‘Michael and Diarmuid Coll from Co. Monaghan are organising a waxing night in Emyvale in order to raise funds to undertake a husky trail challenge in aid of a national charity Meningitis Research Foundation. The Waxing night will take place on Saturday, 11th February in The Redboys Bar, starting at 8pm. The night promises to be full of laughter, entertainment and fun. There will be a raffle and free refreshment organised. Music will be provided by Rula Bula band and DJ Barry Bear.

All the money raised from this event and the husky trail challenge will help the charity to further fund vital research, boost awareness of the disease, operate our Freefone 24 hour helpline and support those affected.

There are around 200-300 cases of meningitis and septicaemia – the blood poisoning form of the disease, every year in Ireland. This means two deaths will occur every month and further 20% are left with severe after effects, such as brain damage, hearing loss and amputations.
