![]() Thirty years on from the famous Long Kesh Hunger Strike of 1981, in which 10 Republican prisoners died, an exhibition on the subject will be hosted in Carrickmacross. The exhibition will be on display in Carrickmacross Workhouse on Thursday 21st July. The exhibition includes original documents, photos and memorabilia from the period as well as a comprehensive chronology of a hugely significant time in modern Irish history. The exhibition is currently on tour to towns and cities across Ireland and will then will brought on an international tour and interest in the subject has been growing in many countries. The exhibition will be available for public viewing throughout the afternoon and evening of the 21st but at 7pm there will be a special presentation by Paddy Quinn, himself a former Hunger Striker, and all members of the public are welcome to attend. |
